Protecting biodiversity by helping Men

HUMY is an international solidarity organization created in 2006. Our association aims to take action to protect the environment through co-development.

Humy works with a network of local partners to co-construct solutions to improve living conditions for local populations. HUMY promotes a global, integrated approach that places environmental issues at the heart of human development challenges on natural sites recognized as global biodiversity hotspots. The term HUMY (HUMan and biodiversitY) sums up the challenges faced by our NGO.

Today, the association in 6 countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Colombia, Indonesia, Madagascar)

Our projects around the world

Our values

Solidarity and conscience

Faced with growing environmental degradation and its harmful impact on biodiversity worldwide, HUMY has decided to act in favor of biodiversity, for the planet and local populations.

Determination

HUMY teams go out into the field, meet local people, raise environmental and social issues and raise the funds needed to act in favor of biodiversity and local populations.

Symbiosis

HUMY is an organization that implements projects, in partnership with local associations and the populations concerned, to protect biodiversity while promoting social progress.

Courage

HUMY's commitment is rooted in a strong operational dimension, enabling us to deal with all constraints in the field and provide sustainable solutions accepted by all.

Transmission

To develop sustainable projects, HUMY passes on its know-how and best practices to local populations so that they can eventually become totally self-sufficient.

Community

HUMY, its volunteers, members and donors are committed to concrete action in the field and are proud to express the values defended by the association loud and clear.

Our local partners

In each area where we operate, HUMY systematically partners with a locally-based organization and supports them in developing their business.

To ensure maximum impact, each partner is carefully selected and supported over several years until financial and technical autonomy for local populations is acquired. By combining their knowledge of the areas in which they work with our expertise, we can work together to build a conservation strategy that's right for you.
